The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is a museum dedicated to film and television with several exhibition galleries plus an archive of classic Australian film and television programmes. ACMI’s permanent collection includes exhibits about the history of the moving image from early cinema and television to internet memes with exhibits that include early televisions and home computers. The museum also hosts a programme of temporary exhibits.

Free adminission. It has a few of interactive exhibition. Add ACMI to your bucket list of 1 day tour in Melbourne if u're a movie buff.

Must see. V good history of film in Australia. Free screen worlds exhibition. Entrance at federation sq. watch free movies at 2nd floor (12 pm onwards). Recommended. Free tour at 230 pm.

Truly one of Melbourne's best cultural institutions. The permanent exhibit 'screen worlds' is excellent, so many film festivals, and lets not forget the Cinematheque on Wednesday nights
