Melbourne’s newest airport is Avalon (AVV), 55km southwest of Melbourne’s city centre near Geelong. At this stage Avalon only handles JetStar flights to Sydney.
Sita Coaches’ Avalon Airport Transfers coach service links Avalon with Melbourne city with stops at Southern Cross (Spencer Street) coach station. The one-way fare is $22.
Avalon Airport Shuttle links Avalon Airport with Geelong with the option drop offs and pick ups farther afield including the Bellarine Peninsula, Torquay and the Great Ocean Road. The one-way fare between Avalon Airport and Geelong is $18.

Pay just a bit more and fly to MEL - to avoid the expensive bus ride and extra commute time. Infrequent Skybus services mean you will have to arrive 2 hours before departure - check which bus to take.

Small luttle airport in the middle of the field. First time I was there, I was surprised it was in the middle of nowhere. And yeah the flight is cheaper but the transport is very expensive.

For a tin shed in the middle of nowhere, it's ok. Security staff were friendly, and did not get upset by my over excited 4yr old. Kids corner is brilliant for entertainment while waiting to board.
