Darwin is the closest Australian city to Asia. Its airport handles many of the cheapest international flights into and out of Australia, making Darwin a popular gateway.
Darwin International Airport (DRW) is 10km northeast of the city centre and is served by the airport shuttle bus that meets most (but not all) flights and drops off at hostels. The one-way fare is $16 (although the fare is reduced with more passengers).

I won the lottery today: got to disembark using an aerobridge; instead of schlepping it out over the tarmac

Bit of a joke the parking here. Short term almost empty. Long term full so had to go to general aviation with a 500m trolley push

At $3.90 a small coffee wasn't as expensive as expected, but the cafe did charge $1 for a hot water... Coffee isn't much to write home about though :(

The cheapest way to go to the city is the bus number 3 and then the number 10. Is not very comfortable but it costs only 3$. Ask to the airport where you can catch the bus 3
