Like many Australian cities, Melbourne has plenty of places to drink but many of these feel plastic and charmless. However there are a few nice pubs around the city including the James Hotel pub (formerly the James Squire Brewhouse) in the Harbour Town area of Melbourne Docklands.

    Cool place but I dunno if it was because the place was busy or it was a Friday night but I've never had such a terrible parma. Not recommended.

    Food quality is average, service is quite poor. The only good thing is selection of beer on tap. But place is not cheap. Quite alright for couple of drinks i think.

    No security at all on a Friday lead to bogans fighting out the front. Staff didn't clear tables or replace cutlery before bringing mains. Food was bland, eg salad was lettuce and tomato, no dressing.

    The dips (well at least today) are not recommended as they come with basic sliced white 'supermarket' style loaf. Wedges are always good although today the sour cream seemed watered down.
