Lismore used to be served by trains on the Casino–Murwillumbah rail line, however the line was closed in 2004 and Lismore train station is now just a coach station served by NSW TrainLink coaches that stop here en route between Casino and Tweed Heads.

Lismore train station is on Union Street, west of the town centre.
