Built in 1841, this prison has a history of 104 hangings including that of the infamous Ned Kelly in 1880. Displays include Kelly’s armour, his guns and his death mask.

One of Melbourne's most popular iconic landmarks with a history of around 200 years. Ancient buildings can be seen. Definitely worth visiting!

The original cell block may look small, but there is a lot to see and read. Make sure you have plenty of time when visiting. The 'tour' was also a lot of fun.

Spend an hour here and read abt interesting prisoners and their stories. See the gallows area where the convicted were hung and their death masks.

Skip the trial of Ned Kelly, unless you bring a troupe of enthusiastic thespians. The real crime was the child acting. The rest of the gaol was good with information on operations and prisoner bios.

I spent about an hour here. It's a great place for good photography. It's very Ned Kelly-centric, so probably even more interesting for international visitors.
