Situated about two hours south of Perth, Bunbury is Western Australia’s second largest city. Although it is a reasonably large town with plenty to keep you busy, its main attraction is the dolphins at Koombana Beach. Every day several dolphins swim up to shore and you can watch them in much the same way as at Monkey Mia.
Bunbury also makes a convenient base for exploring the nearby Wellington National Park.
Local transport
TransBunbury operates a network of local bus routes around Bunbury. A one-way fare costs $2–4.40 ($1.70–3.74 with a SmartRider card), which allows you to transfer to other bus routes within a two-hour period. SmartRider cards from Perth will work on buses in Bunbury.
