Goulburn was proclaimed a city by Queen Victoria in 1863 and was the first inland city in Australia. It was also the location of the State’s last public hanging. Inspired by the region’s sheep farming industry, Goulburn’s main landmark is an enormous sheep where many of the Melbourne-Sydney coaches stop for a meal break.
