Walter Burley Griffin – the American architect and town planner who also designed Canberra – designed Griffith. Although Griffith shares some similarities with Australia’s capital, it lacks Canberra’s monuments and museums. In other words, it’s like Canberra with even fewer things to see and do.
The surrounding region is home to many orchards, vineyards and even rice paddies and many backpackers come here for fruit picking rather than to see the sights.
