This small town north of Pemberton is a centre for the region’s timber industry. Fruit orchards are another industry attracting backpackers who come here to pick apples.
Manjimup’s attractions include the Diamond Tree fire lookout; the Four Aces, four gigantic 400-year old trees; and a timber museum. In December the town boasts a cherry festival, which features a cherry spitting contest. The Saturday of this festival is officially known as Cherry Day.
