Naracoorte is north of Mount Gambier and is best known as the site of South Australia’s only World Heritage area – Naracoorte Caves National Park. The caves have earned their World Heritage listing because of the extensive collection of fossils that have been unearthed here.
In addition to the caves, some travellers use Naracoorte as a base for visiting the Coonawarra wine growing region.
