This crocodile farm, a 15-minute drive from Broome, gives you the opportunity to see some really big crocodiles. It is best to visit in time for the 3pm crocodile feeding tour.

Mamukala wetlands
The Mamukala wetlands is a great place to see birdlife including thousands of magpie geese that flock here towards the end of the dry season (Sep–Oct). There is an observation platform and a couple of short walks (1km; 20 minutes and 3km; 2 hours) that allow you to see more of the wetlands.
Manguri Siding
The Ghan train from Adelaide to Darwin stops at Manguri Siding, which is 47km from Coober Pedy. If you are arriving by train you will need to arrange transport between Manguri Siding and Coober Pedy ($99 each way) before departure from Adelaide or Alice Springs.

The closest train station to Hervey Bay is in Maryborough West (around 10km from Maryborough).
Maryborough West is served by the Tilt Train to Brisbane and Rockhampton, the Spirit of the Outback to Brisbane and Longreach and the Spirit of Queensland train to Brisbane and Cairns.
Connecting coach services run to Maryborough and Hervey Bay from here (rail passes are valid on these coaches).
