Batemans Bay bus and coach stop

Premier Motor Services run coaches to destinations up and down the coast including services to Sydney and Melbourne. Coaches stop at the Orient Street bus bay outside the Woolworths supermarket in the town centre.

Although there is no regular public transport from Batemans Bay to Pebbly Beach, the Shady Willows YHA runs daytrips that allow for five hours in Murramarang National Park. The return trip costs $15.

Bathurst Train Station

Most people visit Bathurst en route to someplace else, although you may want to make the trip out from Sydney for the big race. Bathurst is at the end of the CityRail network and is also served by NSW TrainLink trains with regular services from Sydney to Dubbo and Broken Hill.

Buses and coaches also stop at the train station.

Battery Hill Mining Centre

Battery Hill was named after the stamp battery that was built in 1939 to provide processing facilities for Tennant Creek’s many small gold mines. The plant operated until the 1980s, although it closed during World War II and also for a few years in the late 1950s. The centre has a museum and you can take underground mine tours.

Beagles Pizza

There is good pizza in Airlie Beach. Often, Beagle Pizza (293 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach) and the pizza restaurant in Magnum’s (Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach) compete with Domino’s (Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach) by offering huge bargains. Walk through town and check them all out, it only takes a few minutes.
