Outback Queensland’s biggest and best attraction is an outstanding museum dedicated to the pioneers of the early outback. It is well worth the visit – some people even go as far as saying that this museum alone is worth the trip to Longreach.

Fairly pricey admission. The audio guide is decent - takes the POV retelling of personal history style. However may disappoint those who prefer there to be more exhibits and detailed descriptions

Australian painter Hugh Sawrey - famous for his vibrant images of horses and cattle, the dust of the outback and station life - was a founding member.
