This former prison in South Hobart is the female equivalent to Port Arthur and female convicts were kept here between 1828 and 1856. It is part of the Australian Convict Sites UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    A great place to learn about the history of female convicts. Recommend the heritage tour for extra stories.
