Cairns’ botanic gardens feature a variety of tropical plants and a boardwalk through wetlands. There is also a rainforest boardwalk across the road in Centenary Lakes.

    How the focaccia? Go to the Botanic Cafe early doors and splurge on the stunning Tasmanian Salmon focaccia with dill cream cheese. Walk it off through the superbly informative swamp forest boardwalk
