Watching turtles at Mon Repos Beach

You are here Home  > Queensland  > Bundaberg region  > Bundaberg >  Watching turtles at Mon Repos Beach

If you’re visiting between November and March you should make a trip to Mon Repos Beach (15km from the town centre) to watch the loggerhead turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. It is a great experience to see the baby turtles digging through the sand and making their way to the sea. You must make a booking with the tourist office (tel (07) 4153 8888) before you go as there are new regulations regarding the number of people allowed on the beach at a time, whether part of a tour or not. Your time of booking determines your time on the beach, so call early.

Very interesting set up to see what the turtles actually do and their tracking very smart.
