Murwillumbah’s tourist information centre is opposite the train station on the southern side of the Tweed River.

Murwillumbah train station
Murwillumbah used to be served by trains, but the rail line from Casino was closed in 2004.
The train station is now used as a coach station with NSW TrainLink coaches to Casino, Tweed Heads and the Gold Coast. Premier Motor Services coaches also stop here en route between Brisbane and Sydney.
Lennox Head bus and coach stop
Bus 640 runs between Ballina and Byron Bay stopping en route at the Lennox Head. NSW TrainLink coaches run from Lennox Head to Casino, Grafton, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Premier Motor Service coaches also stop at Lennox Head but Greyhound coaches do not.
Byron Bay bus and coach stop
Because Byron Bay is off the main highway some coaches don’t stop here, but most on the Brisbane–Sydney route do. Most coaches, including Premier Motor Service coaches and smaller bus operators, stop near the information centre on Jonson Street outside the train station, but Greyhound Australia coaches stop outside Shop 2, 84 Jonson Street, Byron Bay (next to Noodle Box).
Brisbane 2 Byron operates a minibus service between Brisbane and Byron Bay. The trip takes two hours and costs $38.
There are several companies offering day trips to Nimbin, these trips range from a simple shuttle bus to tours that stop by at a number of local attractions. Because of competition, there are some good deals available. See the Nimbin section for more information.
Scenic Skyway
The Scenic Skyway cable gondola travels over the Jamison Valley and provides an impressive view of Katoomba and the Blue Mountains.
Scenic Railway
With an incline of 52°, the Scenic Railway is the world’s steepest inclined railway. It is very popular and feels a bit like a slow roller coaster ride.
Hiking trails in the Blue Mountains
There are some excellent hiking trails around the Blue Mountains with most of the walks originating around Katoomba.
The most popular include the Giant Stairway Walk that descends the Jamison Valley from Echo Point and the Federal Pass Trail that passes along the floor of the valley and includes the Katoomba Falls and Orphan Rock.

There are several supermarkets in Melbourne’s city centre including a Coles supermarket on Spencer Street at the northern end of Southern Cross Station.
