Western Australia

You are here: Home  > Western Australia

Australia’s biggest state covers a third of the country, is larger than the whole of Western Europe and nearly four times the size of Texas; yet there are only a little over two million people in this enormous state, with three quarters of them living in Perth.

Nowhere do you get a sense of space like in Western Australia. This is the sort of place where you can travel 600km and not pass any towns or villages, just a lonely service station – and that’s on a major highway.

Travelling such long distances has its rewards. The state has brilliant natural attractions like the stunning Bungle Bungles, teeming marine life of the Ningaloo Reef and gorgeous gorges in Karajini National Park. These are spectacular places that would be overrun with tourists anywhere else, but here it feels like you’ve got the whole place to yourself.
