This former prison in South Hobart is the female equivalent to Port Arthur and female convicts were kept here between 1828 and 1856. It is part of the Australian Convict Sites UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Castle Hill
The lookout at the summit of Castle Hill offers great views of Townsville. Some hostels operate trips up here although it is more rewarding to hike up the steep trail to the top.
Castlemaine Brewery
There are regular tours of the brewery that produces XXXX beer. Each 75-minute tour gives you the chance to learn more about how beer is made, learn a few bits of useless trivia and most importantly taste the finished product. Bookings recommended.
Cataract Gorge
Launceston’s major attraction is the spectacular Cataract Gorge. The gorge is about a 15-minute walk from the centre of Launceston and there are several lovely walks within the Cataract Gorge Reserve.
The reserve is also home to the Duck Reach Power Station, which was the first hydroelectric power station in the Southern Hemisphere when it was constructed in 1895.
Cave Gardens and the Engelbrecht Caves
Mount Gambier has a huge network of caves. The Cave Gardens in the city centre is a nice spot for a picnic and from here you can walk down into the cave.

Ceduna Airport (CED)
Rex flies to Ceduna from Adelaide. The tiny airport is just a couple of kilometres outside town.

Premier Stateliner coaches link Ceduna with Adelaide running via Port Augusta. Coaches stop outside the Auto Pro shop on Murat Terrace.

Central Australian Aviation Museum
Plane spotters will love this museum, which is situated in the original hanger of Connellan Airways at what was the site of Alice Springs’ first airport. The museum is home to several historic aircraft including early flying doctor planes and the remains of the Kookaburra, which crashed in the Tanami Desert in 1929.
Central Business District
The Central Business District (known as either the CBD or simply the City) stretches from Circular Quay at the harbour south to Central Station and encompasses the cluster of high-rise office buildings in between. Most of Sydney’s sights are here and other neighbourhoods such as Darling Harbour and The Rocks are within easy walking distance.
Central Deborah Gold Mine
Central Deborah Gold Mine closed in 1954 and was re-opened for tourists in 1972. The Central Deborah Goldmine has been restored both above and below ground and is a great insight into how gold is mined.
Charters Towers bus and coach stop
Although trains stop in Charters Towers, coach travel is a much a much frequent alternative with daily Greyhound coaches on the Townsville–Tennant Creek run.
Greyhound coaches stop at the Woolworths service station.
Charters Towers train station
Charters Towers is on the Inlander rail line linking Townsville with Mount Isa, however trains only pass through here twice a week in each direction.
The train station is on Enterprise Road on the eastern edge of Charters Towers.
Charters Towers Visitor Information Centre
Cheeky Monkey's Restaurant and Bar
Cheeky Monkey is usually the first stop for partiers and it is a popular spot for backpackers. Live music is big here, especially reggae and blues.
Childers bus and coach stop
Greyhound and Premier Motor Service coaches stop in Childers at the Shell service station on Churchill Street.
Chinese Museum
This great little museum is in the heart of Chinatown and traces the history of Melbourne’s Chinese community, from the gold rushes of the 1850s to the present day. The museum is also home to Dai Loong, one of the world’s largest Chinese dragons.
Cobb & Co Museum
This museum is home to Australia’s largest collection of horse-drawn vehicles and it includes three stagecoaches from the Cobb & Co company that thrived during the 19th century.
Coffs City Skydivers
Coffs Harbour is a popular skydiving destination and is a good value alternative to tandem skydiving farther up the coast. Coffs City Skydivers offers tandem skydiving, including a 15,000ft tandem skydive (the highest beach skydive in Australia).
